It’s time for our spring 2025 Lately @ Lucid, and that means we have lots of updates to share with you!

Lucid now offers three accelerators that can be added to the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite to accelerate Agile, cloud, and process initiatives across your organization.

We also have an expanded vision, an exciting acquisition, and tons of other features we can’t wait for you to try.

Lucid’s expanded vision of work acceleration

Lucid started in 2010 with our flagship product, Lucidchart, which was born out of the need for a diagramming application where you could collaborate with other team members in real time.

From there, we continued to pioneer the visual collaboration space with the addition of Lucidspark, our virtual whiteboard, and we later bundled these two products to form the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite. We’ve known that visual collaboration isn’t just boxes and arrows, and it isn’t just sticky notes on a canvas. Visual collaboration means teams work together through their entire workflows, from ideation to planning to execution.

And now we’re ready for the next phase of Lucid. Our customers frequently use Lucid for large-scale transformations such as Agile delivery, cloud optimization, and process improvement across their organizations, and while we are continuing to embrace visual collaboration as core to what we do as a company, we want to extend the value that Lucid can offer by providing even deeper solutions to accelerate these major initiatives.

This goal leads us to our evolved vision: Lucid is a work acceleration platform powered by visual collaboration that helps teams get aligned and transform their businesses. In order to better meet this vision, we have developed accelerators that can be added to the Lucid Suite and acquired a solution to align executive leadership and execution teams as they develop outstanding products.

Agile Accelerator

First things first, accelerators are a paid set of custom-built tools that provide a guided Lucid experience.

Available to Enterprise customers for purchase at the beginning of May 2025, the Agile Accelerator helps your organization better scale Agile practices to improve team performance, as well as increase visibility for teams and leaders. By using these capabilities, you’ll be able to:

  • Share proven ways of working in a scalable way while maintaining team autonomy.

  • Effectively surface insights about team confidence, risks, blockers, and more.

  • Visualize potential plans based on staffing, scope, and other factors to determine the best path to value.

Let’s dive into what this means as far as features and functionality.

Share proven ways of working in a scalable way

Designated managers of the Agile Accelerator will be able to create blueprints, which are sets of templates that give teams a starting point for their Agile events or other Agile work, such as product discovery or big room planning. Teams will still have autonomy in the way they work by changing and updating aspects of the blueprint to accommodate the team’s needs.

Agile managers will also be able to automatically create team hubs at scale through an import so that each team has a home base for documentation and working through Agile events. Once teams have a hub, you can include team tags for sharing and organization. For example, group teams by initiative, project, and more to share blueprints and filter down to specific insights.

Effectively surface qualitative insights

Not only can blueprints help provide consistent and proven ways of working across your organization, but they can also be used to surface qualitative insights. Agile managers can include and lock components like Visual Activities and Frames in their blueprints that teams can consistently complete to share critical data with leaders, such as confidence votes, risks, and more. The comprehensive results will appear in one spot on an insights dashboard. Agile managers can filter down by date, team, and team category if they need to gauge how certain workstreams are progressing.

Visualize potential plans to determine the best path to value

The Agile Accelerator includes data-driven scenario planning that will allow teams to explore different possibilities and factor in constraints around staffing, scope, and timelines to achieve value effectively. Easily add a team's capacity to a Dynamic Table in Lucid to see how changes in scope and assignments affect the scenario. When you change one factor, the other factors are automatically calculated so a team can easily see and communicate when their capacity puts timelines at risk.

If you’re using Lucid’s integrations with Jira or Azure DevOps, you can pause the data sync between Lucid and Jira or Azure DevOps so that your team can work through a scenario without changing data in your system of record.

Cloud Accelerator

Also available to Enterprise customers for purchase at the beginning of May 2025, the Cloud Accelerator helps your organization understand the current state and plan future changes to its cloud infrastructure. Use the Cloud Accelerator to create accurate, customizable cloud documentation and diagrams, streamlining the process with automated generation, reusable components, and flexible, modifiable visuals. With these capabilities, you can:

  • Create and iterate on cloud documentation faster.

  • Save time importing and sharing cloud data.

  • Build reusable assets.

So what specifically does this mean for cloud transformation initiatives across your org?

Create and iterate on cloud documentation faster

With the Cloud Accelerator, you can connect to cloud providers to auto-generate models of your cloud infrastructure. Once you have your model, customize the layout to view your model in a way that fits your communication needs, and add unmapped resources for a more complete picture of your infrastructure.

Ensure added lines or shapes stay when the model dataset is updated to keep the most accurate documentation for onboarding, audits, and more.

Coming later this year, the Cloud Accelerator, like the Agile Accelerator, will include blueprints to standardize ways of working and give teams a quick starting point.

Save time importing and sharing cloud data

Whether you’re on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, use bulk import to import entire cloud footprints. If there’s sensitive data you don’t want to import, you can limit your selection. Once your cloud data is available in Lucid, share it with the rest of your team to get aligned quicker with a more complete view of your infrastructure. Bulk import enables your team to work on the actual planning and execution of projects instead of importing cloud data.

Build reusable assets

Coming later this year, Lucid’s asset builder will allow you to easily create and manage reusable components that can be added to any cloud diagram and updated in a single place.

Custom assets provide increased consistency across cloud infrastructure, making it easier for your cloud teams to visualize abstracted diagrams and keep multiple diagrams up to date.

Process Accelerator

Coming in August 2025, the Process Accelerator will also be available for Enterprise accounts to purchase. The Process Accelerator provides your organization with increased governance and standardization in how processes are documented, published, and stored. By using these capabilities, you’ll be able to:

  • Create a single source of truth.

  • Build approval flows to drive compliance and consistency across your business.

  • Easily build and manage reusable assets to speed up process improvement.

Now, let’s dive into functionality.

Create a single source of truth

The Process Accelerator allows your organization to create repositories to store official company documentation such as process maps, standard operating procedures, flowcharts, and more. Repositories provide a structured file system where processes are easily accessible and searchable.

Process documentation is visible to the entire organization to facilitate knowledge-sharing. Anyone can request changes to documentation, but proposed changes will go through an approval flow before being incorporated.

Build approval flows to drive compliance and consistency

Documenting, storing, and governing process documentation in one place ensures your org has the detailed information it needs as audits arise. In creating official assets and attributes, your teams can define a standard for visualizing processes, driving continuity across your org.

Repository owners can create approval flows, which trigger a series of actions when a process change is taking place, facilitate quick feedback, and drive accountability across stakeholders. Only authorized users can approve and publish documentation.

Easily build and manage reusable assets

Like the Cloud Accelerator, the Process Accelerator also includes an asset builder, so process owners can easily create and manage reusable components that allow for processes to be documented quickly. Custom assets make it not only easier for process owners to create documentation but also easier for other team members to understand and familiarize themselves with common shapes, standards, roles, and subprocesses.

Changes and updates to assets can be automatically deployed to all processes where those assets are present, providing a quick way to update multiple processes with a single click.

Acquisition of airfocus

We’re also excited to announce that Lucid has acquired airfocus! Over the years, customers have asked if we could provide a solution for roadmapping and product portfolio management. We’ve dabbled with some related features, but roadmapping by design is more structured and rigid than our Lucid canvas so it can serve as a strong system of record for product teams. Rather than building a solution from scratch, we felt that we could deliver a solution for customers faster by acquiring a company that is well-established and innovating within the space.

airfocus is the AI-powered product management and roadmapping platform that keeps teams and stakeholders aligned—no matter how differently they operate.

Together, Lucid and airfocus are the perfect fusion of flexibility and structure to support product leaders in going from strategy to ideation to reality. Today, you can use the Lucid Cards for airfocus integration to import airfocus items such as tasks and epics into Lucid. Ideate, collaborate, and work visually with your team in Lucid. Save time and eliminate manual processes by sending the changes you make in Lucid directly back to airfocus. You can also embed Lucid documents into airfocus

And this is just the beginning for Lucid and airfocus! We’ll be building many more connection points between the two solutions. Look out for more to come as we streamline the way teams prioritize, plan, and execute on company initiatives and product strategies.
